3 things to look for when hiring a photo booth!

expert advice

Please, we would advise everyone to check out the company you’re looking at hiring on Facebook and Google and ask yourself these questions:

Do the reviews make sense? Are the reviews gathered over a long period of time? because believe it or not you can actually buy reviews online.

Are these images actually owned by the business and taken from the photo booth? because again you can buy images online called “stock images” if you can’t confirm any of the above questions, I’d suggest this business is possibly not reliable nor is professional at all and I’d be careful.

This sounds crazy; however, we get phone calls all the time because the photo booth business they had chosen has done one of the following; ghosted the client, did a no show or they cancelled at the very last minute and then we come to the party to try and save the day.

01 - DO YOUR HOMEWORK - CHECK THEM OUT ONLINE

02 - inclusions? what's included in the price?

Don’t assume everything is included in the standard price. Majority photo booth suppliers will try and cut costs by excluding things in the “standard” price. This makes them look more affordable and therefore people book them to only find out in the end that they are paying more because they need to purchase all the additional extras.

Here’s some things to look out for:
Unlimited Prints - Do they actually mean unlimited prints or unlimited photos?
Attendant - Does an attendant stay and help for the entire duration?
Set-up and pack-up - Is this outside the actual hire time, because you don’t want it to chew up your time to use the photo booth.
Props - Make sure props are included if you want them. if you do want them, make sure they are made of quality of material and not made from paper or cardboard.

03 - IMAGE QUALITY!!!

This is probably the biggest thing that clients out post their event, when they jump online to check out all the images from the photo booth. All that excitement quickly turns into utter disappointment.

Not all photo booths are created and designed equal. There are a number of factors that come into play with poor image output in a photo booth. Things like; Continuous lighting comparted to studio flash, DSLR camera compared to Webcam.

Please as mentioned in point 01, check out the photo booth company's gallery on the photo booth you are hiring. If there are no galleries or images on display request them to send you some samples of the quality output.

In The Kombi Photo Booth we use Cannon DSLR camera's with a mixture of continuous lighting and studio flash to get the perfect images that have no shadows or reflections.  Check out our galleries online HERE
